Insurance

I am an independent, solo practitioner. I am not on any hospital payroll, and I do not participate in any HMO or insurance program. However, your insurance may cover a portion of my fee. Working this way allows me to put my patients' needs first without interference from any corporate or government bureaucracy, and to provide the most personalized, confidential care possible.

Checking your out-of-network benefits

Because I am not in any insurance network, it helps to call your insurance company before your first visit. Useful questions to ask them:

• Does my plan include out-of-network outpatient mental health benefits?
• What is my out-of-network deductible, and how much of it have I met this year?
• What percentage of the fee will the plan reimburse for an office visit with a psychiatrist?
• How do I submit a claim for reimbursement, and is there a deadline?

Payment

Cash, check, Visa and MasterCard are accepted for payment.

Cancellation policy

If you do not show up for your scheduled appointment and you have not notified my office at least 24 hours in advance, you will be responsible for the full session amount. The full policy is included in the Limits of Confidentiality/Therapy Cancellation Policy form.

Scheduling

Please schedule your consultation or appointment by calling 757-461-7571, and my office will make the appointment as soon as possible. I build time into my schedule for new patient appointments so the wait is minimal. Office hours are Tuesday and Thursday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
